Aernnova finalises the SIMPAFORM Project successfully

Aernnova has recently successfully completed the SIMPAFORM Project. SIMPAFORM funded in collaboration with the Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial (CDTI) and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the “Smart Growth” program.

The project through more than 16 months has had as main technological objectives:

  • The generation of a new functional analysis methodology for the cold forming of light metal alloys to increase the precision of the results.
  • Optimization of the parameterization process of the cold forming process with high reliability in the calculation of residual stresses for aircraft panels without integrated stiffeners.
  • Establishment of a precise and repetitive forming coverage application process for large parts.
  • Validation, experimentally and quantitatively, of the residual stresses previously estimated by numerical analysis.
