Clean Sky: Development of a hybrid laminar flow smart wing

Clean Sky is the largest aerospace European research programme

Clean Sky is the main European commitment to research on the design of the future generation of aircraft and was constituted in 2009 as a public-private consortium (European Commission-Industry).

In this framework, Aernnova has participated in the BLADE project – “Breakthrough Laminar Aircraft Demonstrator in Europe” -, in charge of the development of two new outer natural laminar flow wings in order to demonstrate its lower friction and therefore, lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Aernnova as the “core partner” of the Clean Sky BLADE project, assumed responsibility for some of the components, as well as the assembly and complete integration of the two outer wings.
