Aernnova Aeroestructuras Alava. Berantevilla: Experience and Ambition to Keep Moving Forward

André Wall’s, CEO of Aernnova Group, visit to the Berantevilla facility began with an initial meeting with the Plant Manager Iñaki Sancho, followed by an introduction to the Berantevilla management team and the ANN Industrialization team led by Jose Manuel Guerra. This first meeting provided an overview of the plant, its equipment, and the main challenges and opportunities for the future.
From the very beginning, one of Berantevilla’s greatest assets was evident: its people. A team with extensive experience and a track record of up to 24 years at Aernnova, which brings deep knowledge of the business and the company’s evolution.

A plant with significant industrial capacity

Following the presentations, André shared the key highlights and priorities for the coming weeks and months. This was followed by a tour of the entire plant, including the different production areas.

During the visit, participants learned about the different programs and customers, discussing the specific characteristics and key aspects of each. The diversity of programs, the complexity of some of the structures, and the level of automation were among the aspects that stood out the most.

Among these, it is particularly worth mentioning the industrial solutions for the A220’s CWB, which exemplify the plant’s technical capabilities and production automation. The level of control required in certain processes and the complexity of the assemblies carried out at Berantevilla were also highlighted.

In this context, CIMPA (automated drilling and riveting center) serves as the heart of the plant, contributing to the control and monitoring of production activities.

The Challenge: Turning Our Strengths Into Our Best Selves

The final session with the entire management team provided an opportunity to take stock of the day, highlighting Berantevilla’s strengths while also identifying areas where there is room for further improvement.

Among the main challenges are continuing to improve the plant’s order and organization, optimizing available space, and moving toward a common system that allows us to work consistently across all projects.

The goal is clear: to systematize processes in line with best practices,to improve the efficiency of programs and continue advancing in automation and innovation to ensure that these best practices become the standard for all projects.

Seeing Things Through the “Customer’s Eyes

One of the key takeaways from the event was the importance of “seeing things through the customer’s eyes”: observing our processes from a different perspective, sharing experiences, and working together to find new ways to do things even better.

The event also served as a simple yet essential reminder: the importance and responsibility each of us has to use PPE correctly and to always prioritise safety standards in our day-to-day work.

The visit concluded with a message of ambition and confidence in the team. Berantevilla has experience, knowledge, industrial capacity, and, above all, people eager to keep moving forward. And to achieve an ambitious goal: to become the industry "champions".
