On August 4th, accompanied by Joseph Andrade- Contracts Manager, André Wall had the opportunity to spend time with the team of Brek in Gardena, gaining a firsthand understanding of the company’s operations: Long/Medium bed Metal Machining , Hard & Soft Metals and sub assemblies,products and, most importantly, the people behind them.

The visit included a complete tour of the Gardena facilities, with time spent across the different areas of the company and meetings with key personnel. In addition, the team provided a video tour of the Wichita plant, offering a broader view of Brek’s operations and capabilities.

Getting to know Brek from the inside

Rather than following a formal presentation format, the visit focused on direct interaction and conversation. André Wall took the time to meet employees at different levels of the organization, learning about their roles, their daily responsibilities and the contribution they make to the overall business.

This approach provided a valuable opportunity to understand Brek from the perspective of the people who work there every day, more than 150 employees in Gardena and around 25 in Whichita

Looking ahead: key challenges and opportunities

Several important topics were discussed during the visit, represent important opportunities to strengthen the business and prepare Brek for the future. Improving inventory levels, ensuring the continuity of knowledge and experience within the organization, and having greater visibility of future customers forecast and program requirements will all be key to maintaining a competitive and agile operation.

The people behind the operation

One of the most valuable aspects of the visit was the opportunity to connect directly with employees on the shop floor.

During the tour, André Wall spen  ttime with Joshu Ferguson, who operates a 5-axis horizontal CNC machine. The conversation provided a closer look at the skills and expertise required to operate this type of equipment and the important role that machining capabilities play in Brek’s operations.

Another interaction was with Jose DeLa Cruz, who manages the Tool Crib and is responsible for ensuring that toolingequipment is properly serviced and available when needed. His role is a greatexample of how many different functions and responsibilities contribute tokeeping an operation running smoothly.

It was an opportunity to listen, learn and connect with the teams behind the operation, while gaining a better understanding of both the company’s current priorities and its opportunities for the future.
